Our Perfect Day

My beautiful friend and fellow wildflower Christine Sunflower is taking our first family portraits as a family of four this week in Santa Barbara.  She asked us to describe what our perfect day would be like, and Wow I just had to say the exercise she had us do to plan our session was so much fun! I loved the conversation this spurred up between Kevin & I and I was surprised for him to be so into it. Alot of these things we do on a regular basis & my favorite of his contributions was the mode of transportation he chose to the beach. I feel like Our Perfect Day is composed of fragments of our everyday and that is just a blessing I can't take for granted  :)

Our Perfect Day
"All four of us would wake up snuggled together,  lingering sleepily under the blankets Caspian starts his usual tickle fight and then we all shuffle into the kitchen. We'd enjoy a large brunch consisting of an array of all our favorite pastries, pan dulce & yummy Pancakes served with fluffy eggs, sausage and fresh fruits. Next we practice a few school lessons and play a few games (marbles is our current favorite) before heading out for a walk on a trail collecting leaves and flowers on the way. Back home we'd bring out the art supplies, paint, chalk, glitter etc and go free in our art+nature journals while we listen to the Beatles & other 60s artists. That afternoon We'd catch a hot air balloon and land on the beach, the boys would splash, play &  catch the football while mommy & Rett sat under the shade watching whilst reading a good book. After all that sun A snack of refreshing frozen yogurt and yummy toppings would be in order. That evening we'd bake up our homemade deep dish pizza then nuzzle up to watch a movie. As the sun has nearly set We'd break out the disco ball, rock-roll & shake groove thangs until our bodies could dance no more!  We'd wrap up the night recounting of favorite memories at the campfire in our backyard burning "mellows" for a delicious s'mores dessert and finally falling asleep on our favorite quilt under the stars.
